So what’s better than going mountainbiking in the Vallee de l’Ubaye? Going with a friend! Especially when you friend is crazy about playing on a bike, has a good sense of humor and not easily scared..
Throw a very relaxed B&B, good food, decent weather, super-technical singletracks and lots of GoPro stuff in the mix and all you need is to check out the movies Teon made!

Aywaille: nice climbs and even better downhills. Starting the weekend with climbing the La Redoute (straight from the car) and riding routes 34, 35 and 36. Combine that with the company of my nephew Sander and freeride buddy Teon and you’ve got a great weekend..
Thanks to my buddy Teon we’ve got it all on “tape”…
Again skitouring with a small team including the usual suspects Joop, Marcel and me. And when Joop “tjoep tjoep” tags along; you know you will be pushed to the limit. Of course our friend Markus was guiding us again..
Destination deep into the Ötztaler Alps; unlimited possibilities, a good hut and some beautiful peaks! What can go wrong? Continue reading “Skitouring in Ötztal”
What does an average Dutchman when it is 6 degrees below freezing point? Of all the options, a night camping in the woods with the kids is probably not in the top 10..

Our usual tourski trip resembled more of a demolition derby.. one after another could not make it this year or was in such a shape that touring was no option. But in the end, it was the Camperchase Crew who was on the move onto Obertauern. Continue reading “Freetouring 2018 – Obertauern”
The Mountain Madness Family Jam: the start of a new tradition! Thanks to the tremendous success of the previous edition, we organised a 2018 follow-up.
While the Alps nearly drowned in the snow. Winterberg recieved it’s fair share of rain. With temperatures just above the snow level; it was close but no cigar. But that’s the risk you take when you plan a winter trip to the Sauerland. Continue reading “MountainMadness Family Jam 2018”
The usual Mountain Madness season kickoff: we book in advance, ski whatever snow we find, we drink beer and have fun and return with that specific wintery feeling.
This year was a little different as it had already snowed (a lot!) and it continued snowing during our stay in one of Austria’s hidden snow traps: Schröcken. Continue reading “Mountain Madness season kickoff 17/18”
Skitouring with Thomas, Marcel, Joop, Bart and Mark and the two guides Markus and Markus to the highest mountain of Austria, the Gross Glockner (3798m).
Two days of acclimatization on the Weisssee, where we did the Sonnblick tour and a day of training with roping up, walking and climbing on crampons and getting our gear ready.
After that, we moved to the Lucknerhaus, where we ascended to the Stüdlhütte (2800m) with stormy wind and snowfall. The next morning we had a weather window, but the wind was still stormy and the avalanche danger had risen to 4. No chance on the summit. So we descended and did the Glorer Hütte (2642m) instead.
