Mountainbiking Ubaye ’18

Happiness is only real when shared..

So what’s better than going mountainbiking in the Vallee de l’Ubaye? Going with a friend! Especially when you friend is crazy about playing on a bike, has a good sense of humor and not easily scared..

Throw a very relaxed B&B, good food, decent weather, super-technical singletracks and lots of GoPro stuff in the mix and all you need is to check out the movies Teon made!

MountainMadness Family Jam 2018

The Mountain Madness Family Jam: the start of a new tradition! Thanks to the tremendous success of the previous edition, we organised a 2018 follow-up.

While the Alps nearly drowned in the snow. Winterberg recieved it’s fair share of rain. With temperatures just above the snow level; it was close but no cigar. But that’s the risk you take when you plan a winter trip to the Sauerland. Continue reading “MountainMadness Family Jam 2018”

Bike “season” 2017

Well, I can be very short about my bike season in 2017: there was none!

Less than 500k in, I got ill, had to be operated on (twice) and did not recover until mid-December. But I sold my road bike and I got my hands on a Stanton Sherpa. The first few rides on my new mountain bike were awesome. Now I only need to build up strength and condition.

Check out the movie of our last ride of 2017 by Teon:

Gross Glockner 2015

Skitouring with Thomas, Marcel, Joop, Bart and Mark and the two guides Markus and Markus to the highest mountain of Austria, the Gross Glockner (3798m).

Two days of acclimatization on the Weisssee, where we did the Sonnblick tour and a day of training with roping up, walking and climbing on crampons and getting our gear ready.

After that, we moved to the Lucknerhaus, where we ascended to the Stüdlhütte (2800m) with stormy wind and snowfall. The next morning we had a weather window, but the wind was still stormy and the avalanche danger had risen to 4. No chance on the summit. So we descended and did the Glorer Hütte (2642m) instead.
